The meeting was held on the request of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine due to his appointment to this office. The Parties discussed the development of bilateral relations and inter-parliamentary liaison between Ukraine and the Republic of Iraq.
Oleh Bilorus, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, informed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine on the positive changes in the bilateral relations; reported on the activity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deputy group on the inter-parliamentary liaison with the Republic of Iraq, on the visit of the delegation of the People´s Deputies of Ukraine headed by Oleh Bilorus, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, to Baghdad. He expects that bilateral cooperation on the political, trade-economic, investment, research and technological levels will boost.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary highly appreciated the work of the Committee and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deputy group on the inter-parliamentary liaison with the Republic of Iraq.
The Parties stated that bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Iraq had a great potential of development.
Yevhen Dobriak, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Global Security and International Cooperation, Head of the deputy group on the inter-parliamentary liaison with the Republic of Iraq, took part in the meeting.
